Product Liability Claims
"If you or a member of your family has been injured as a result of a defective product, you may be able to claim compensation" Damian Horan, Partner
Products can be anything from cars, toys and food to medical devices or medicines. If it can be proved that the product was defective a claim will be lodged under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 which gives the Claimant the right to claim compensation for any injuries sustained.
A defective product is one that has caused an adverse effect on someone beyond that expected from normal use. Recent cases involve the following defective products:
- Defective child proof closures
- Trilucent breast implants
- Hip prosthesis
- Contraceptive devices
- Food stuffs – which give rise to e.g. E-coli or salmonella
- Intraocular lens
- Hair dye
- Temporary tattoos
We are able to help you claim for compensation if you or a member of your family has suffered an injury from a defective product
