Rising caseload prompts recruitment drive
Dispute resolution has become one of the fastest growing areas of work for leading south coast law firm Moore Blatch and one of the keys to that growth has been the expansion of the firm’s professional negligence team.
In less than 18 months, the Southampton-based team has seen an increase in its caseload from 20 to 220 cases, with additional growth expected in the coming year. This growth has prompted the firm to recruit additional experts in this field.
Professional negligence partner Mark Osgood [centre] said the firm’s expertise and case success in this field together with the current economic climate had created additional demand for dispute resolution services.
“We have built up an enviable reputation in this field of law with our aim to resolve disputes quickly, successfully and cost effectively at the heart of every case we handle,’’ he said.
The client list includes five key lenders and the team has grown from one partner and an assistant to a team of ten fee earners and support staff in the last 18 months with solicitors Andrew Reid [left] and Karl Cameron [right] the latest to join.
“We already have one of the strongest dispute resolution teams in the south and the appointment of Andrew and Karl as solicitors reinforces our position as this market continues to expand,’’ said Mark.
Andrew’s background includes roles as a paralegal dealing with tax and probate issues together before moving into litigation and professional negligence and he will be using his experience with a wide range of Moore Blatch clients.
A keen sportsman, Andrew cycles, plays golf and swims in his spare time.
Karl graduated in 2002 having specialised in property before developing expertise in commercial property and litigation. He joins Moore Blatch from Perrins Stevenson in Poole having qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
In his spare time Karl is another sports fan with a particular love of rugby. He also follows motorsport, enjoys track day racing and enjoys fitness training.
